Star Trek: Aftermath (Klingon Phase)
Stardates in the various series’ are all over the place, not always sequential, and generally are a string of numbers the writers just tossed out there for flavor. Trying to use a stardate system that would match up with Star Trek timelines is also problematic due to every timeline using their own version of stardates and no two of them in agreement in any way. So, I’m going to institute a stardate system that works pretty well, and is practical for the players to use.
How it works. The game year is 2387, and will progress from there via the adventure logs. If it were November 14th today date and the time was 8:30pm then the stardate would read: 23871114.2030 and would actually be 2387 (year) 11 (month) 14 (day) mark (period separating time from date) 20 (hour) 30 (minute). Using this format, the stardate is actually useful. Just remember on months January through September to put in a zero with the month number to keep it a uniform 8 digits (for instance January is 01, February 02, etc…) so that the numbers all line up and we don’t get confused over the actual date, and also please use 24 hour (military) clock time.
